Please come out for a fun filled day of music, food and lake cruising on Saturday September 9th to celebrate the Southern Nevada Bluegrass Music Society’s 43rd birthday! Our day starts at 1 pm at Lake Mead Cruises at Hemenway Harbor at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. We will jam for a bit on the dock for the folks getting off the first boat cruise and then it’s our turn! We will board the Desert Princess paddlewheel boat for an hour and a half sightseeing cruise around Lake Mead and there will be jamming anywhere we want on the boat. Maybe even a few groups scattered about the decks.
The boat returns at 3:30 pm and then we will be heading to Boulder Dam Brewing Co. for a party on the patio! Club provided food and drinks will be available as well as menu items for purchase. From 5 pm – 8pm you’ll be entertained by our great selection of club bands such as Sagebrush Stringband, Stuck in Reverse and Frequent Flyers. Out of the Desert takes the stage from 8 -11 pm to close out the night.
The club will be covering for the boat cruise costs for members but you will be responsible for entry fee into the park. It’s $20 per carload, so carpooling in is highly recommended. Members can meet at the Visitor’s Center just outside the pay area to park and ride in one vehicle. Find someone with a National Park pass and save! For those of you planning on doing the boat cruise, please RSVP to email@example.com so we can give them an accurate number of passengers.
Also, the date was mistakenly listed as September 12 in the newsletter, please let everyone know it is the 9th. See you there!
