Friday January 22nd marks the official release date of the band Tin Toys Cars debut album on New Relic Records. Comprised of SNBMS members Peter Fand on vocals, mandolin and octave mandolin, Brian Burns on upright bass and Andrew Chute on guitars and banjo, the group also features drummer Aaron Guidry and violinist Martin St. Pierre, both Cirque Du Soliel musicians along with Fand. In it’s first two weeks of being sent to radio nationwide it has already been added to 36 stations and debuted at 168 on the AMA Top 200, a tremendous feat for an independent debut release. It is also currently the #76 Album on iTunes.
The band has received a good deal of publicity including having a song premiered on the “The Bluegrass Situation” thebluegrasssituation.com and a exclusive streaming of the album along with a very positive review on Elmore Magazine’s website elmoremagazine.com. Reviews and articles have also appeared in the Review-Journal last week reviewjournal.com , the Nevada Sagebrush nevadasagebrush.com. Friday morning the group was featured on KNPR’s “State of Nevada” broadcast knpr.com where the band was interviewed and performed two songs live. While the all original material is not quite bluegrass, it is inspired by it and played with bluegrass instrumentation. Also the group has mentioned SNBMS in every interview and also in the liner notes of the CD which is available via iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby and more starting tomorrow.
